So you want get into design huh?

Excellent. Design is one of the fastest-growing and highest-paying jobs in the current world scenario. A good designer today can push a humble startup to raise its first round of funding or drive the design team at a massive corporation. Designers are the pilots of this spaceship, and anybody can become a great pilot with adequate training and time. Yes, including you.

I’m here to help. Presenting my first of its kind online-only training that I believe will help you launch your design career. I understand that there are no proper academic degrees that you can obtain in Nepal and on-the-job-training might not be viable for all. And also training centers hardly teach you anything that you will use on the job. So what I’m going to do is hop on to a conference call for a couple of hours every week and we will navigate this together. Trust me, it’s going to be informative and it’s going to be fun.

What is your takeaway?

You will learn the fundamentals of design. You will get face-to-face with design process, design aesthetics, design thinking and learning how to use industry-standard tools like Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD. You will work on a mock project and design a “real” digital product (app, website, etc.) and apply all the taught principles. I will also share you industry standard practices, conventions and will tell you how design work gets done in big organizations. I have experience working with really big corporations both in Nepal and the US. I will use this experience to help you prepare become industry-ready.

You will receive a signed and printed letter of recommendation that you’ve completed this course. Since I am not an institution, I am not legally entitled to award you a certificate but I can help you prepare for your first design job.

Who should attend?

This course is targetted towards beginners with no prior experience at all or people with less than two years of experience in digital design. Any prior knowledge would be useful but not mandatory to join the course.

About the trainer

Swapnil Acharya is an award-winning digital designer with experience in all things design. From print, to web to interactive to film poster design, Swapnil has been there and done that.

Currently, he is a full-time product designer at Leapfrog Technology where he gets to play with cool ideas and lead an awesome team. Swapnil has extensive experience in building apps for mobile and the web. He has worked with corporate giants as well as budding start-ups in both Nepal and the USA. He loves to talk about design whenever there is a chance.
